Who teaches you
We believe anyone can learn to ski or snowboard. It doesn’t matter how old you are, how fit you are or how much you can already do. What matters is your enthusiasm, and ours is contagious. In reviews you most often thank specific people. Here are some of them.

How we take you further
-
We find out where you are
In the first lesson your instructor sees what you can do and what you’re afraid of, and sets the pace.
-
Step by step
From flat ground and braking to your first turns and carving. Every step has a clear goal, we skip none.
-
Then we go further
Once you feel confident, we move on: drag lift, chairlift, blue run, red run.
We follow the ACSI L3 (2024) and APUL methodology, and our instructors practise it at around 10 training sessions each season. Content reviewed by Jan Micka, head of instructors at Snowmonkey (ACSI SKI L3 licence).
Travel light
Don’t want to drag skis across Europe? You don’t have to. With your lesson we rent you skis or a snowboard, boots, poles, helmet and goggles, plus ski clothing. Pick everything up the day before after 3 pm at our shop (Špindlerův Mlýn 168), no deposit, just your ID or passport. Or we bring it to the slope or your hotel for free.
Prices apply when you book online.
Frequently asked questions
Why do you only teach private lessons?
Your instructor focuses only on you or your group, nobody waits for anyone and the pace is yours. The price is per lesson, not per person, so it gets cheaper per person in a group.
How much does a lesson cost?
A 2-hour lesson for one person costs 104 € when you book online. In a group it is cheaper per person. See the full price list.
How many hours of lessons do I need?
For adult beginners we recommend 2–3 days of 4 hours, the minimum is 2 hours a day. Recommendations for kids are on the ski lessons for kids page.
How do I pay?
On site, in cash in Czech crowns or euros. You pay nothing in advance and we don’t ask for a deposit.
Can I choose a specific instructor?
Yes. Write their name in your enquiry. In high season, the earlier you book, the better the chance they are free.
Can my kids have a lesson at the same time as me?
Yes. Your kids have their own instructor and you learn with another one at the same time.
Do I need a ski pass for the lesson?
Not on the beginner slope at the bottom next to the lift. Once we take the lift up to Medvědín or Svatý Petr, you need one. We don’t sell ski passes, buy yours at gopass.cz.
Where is the Snowmonkey ski school and rental in Špindlerův Mlýn?
Our rental shop is in the town centre (Špindlerův Mlýn 168), which is also the meeting point. By arrangement we can meet directly at Medvědín or Svatý Petr.
